Undead also differ in the other factions in that they will need

  • There are a number of differences between the factions you are going to want to know about, too. Orcs and Humans are the same, with workers manually chopping down trees and evaporating into gold mines to accumulate stone, then walking the Wow gold resources back to your Hall building. As such, you are going to need Halls as close to gold mines as possible. If, for any reason, you have to construct one further than the minimum distance, you will need more than the five workers to make up for the missing time.

Night Elf workers, known as Wisps, want to Entangle a Gold Mine to collect from it, which requires 60 minutes. Once built, Wisps could be'loaded' to the mine, gathering gold without needing to move. Being the ecological sort, they also don't destroy trees while gathering lumber, like the other factions. Pop a wisp onto a tree, and it is going to float around collecting lumber for the rest of the game.

The Undead have a special gold structure -- a Haunted Gold Mine. Like Night Elf Wisps, Undead Acolytes stay about the mine and collect mechanically. In 100 seconds, building one is slower compared to the Entangled Gold Mine, but Undead Acolytes don't need to stay around in one place to build, rather summoning a portal that attracts their structures into existence. Once the portal is summoned, they are free to start other jobs.

Undead also differ in the other factions in that they will need to utilize their simplest combat unit -- Ghouls -- to gather lumber. The trade-off is that Ghouls gather 20 lumber per delivery rather than the Human and Orc's 10, and the Night Elves' 5. They are also much more defensible, should your opponent target your employees.

All games begin with your starting city right next to a gold mine. Night Elf or Undead players may find their beginning mine prepared to use, won't need to worry about Haunting or even Entangling immediately, before, the very first Gold Mine collapses. That is correct, Gold Mines do not last forever, so you'll be looking to expand quickly into the early mid-game. Find another gold mine and begin planning to clean the region and expand to a second base. You also need to watch for your competitor's expansions. If you have two gold mines, and they have only got you, you're going to be at a serious advantage.

To discover where your opponents are enlarging too, however, you will want to spend a while on recon. Sending a beginning employee out to learn more about the map is a frequent tactic, but make sure you replace them fast to avoid missing out on precious early game resources. Finding out early what type of force your opponents are building permits to construct an effective counter drive.
